Which is more energy efficient for home air conditioners?

August 12th, 2010 OrlyZiya 3 comments

Should I run it on auto and leave the fan off in between cycles, or will running the a/c fan keep it cooler and keep the compressor from running as much. If it matters the unit is brand new with a new thermostat.

how big should a central air conditioner be for a 1450 sq ft house?

August 1st, 2010 OrlyZiya 3 comments

I live in warner robins GA and it gets very hot. I cant get my house cooler than 75 Degrees in the afternoon even if the thermostat is set a 65 degrees. What could the problem be? Is my air conditioner too small? Do I need freeon (the house is only 3 years old and it still blows cold air). Do i need a better thermostat? Any help would be great.

is it normal for my dodge caravan to run hotter while the airconditioner is running?

July 9th, 2010 OrlyZiya 4 comments

we just changed the thermostat last night because it all of a sudden ran really hot.No liquid is leaking anywhere. Maybe I’m paranoid but now it does seem to run hotter while the air is on.

What really happened to my 1985 window air conditioner

July 9th, 2010 OrlyZiya 6 comments

I don’t really think it is going to be replaced so I will probably give it a full overhull. Can somebody tell me if I can install a normal central air conditioner thermostat in this window unit and controls both fan and compressor including the temperature?

My airconditioner inside my townhouse has Snow on the metal grill and its not blowing hard. How do I fix?

June 15th, 2010 OrlyZiya 5 comments

Im in South Florida and I live in a 1 bedroom townhouse. The unit is in a closet and it has what looks and feels like snow on the oustide of the metal grill area. I can not afford a technician to come here and was hoping someone knew what to do or try. Thank you.
Also, the thermostat has and always was set to 75.

Why are Fuzzy Logic air conditioners more energy efficient than Thermostats?

May 22nd, 2010 OrlyZiya 2 comments

It’s common knowledge that through the use of carefully crafted Fuzzy Logic rules, an air conditioner can be more energy efficient than a thermostat. What I am curious to know is WHY this is so.

Thanks!
