Room Air Conditioners…

looking for one that sells for 2oo to 500 dollars

i am just wondering if there is such a thing as an air conditioner that doesn’t have to go in a window. but not like central air. cuz this summer im goin to camp and its always really hot and fans arent much of a help. if this does exist then where can i get one?

I DESPERATELY need an air conditioner for my basement. But I don’t have any windows in my basement. Is there an air conditioner that doesn’t need a window? I can’t afford to spend a lot, either.

The air conditioner should be used in a WV beetle Car. I dont want to put water or Ice. It must work after the power supply given (12v).

some kind of new technolgy other than central air-
why havent they discovered something new where you dont need a window , like a portable light weight air conditioner that can cool a large area.
is there such a thing, where can i get one
or am i stuck with the window unit ( heavy thing) or the centra air?

Fans existed though they didn’t use electricity, they were hand cranked, or waved by hand.
In the 17&18 hundreds most houses had large porches and people used them as outside rooms so they could catch natural breezes. Kitchens were built as separte buildings away from the main house to keep them from heating up the house.
Ice houses were generally very cool and people used to sit in them in the summer too, if they were lucky enough to have one. If they weren’t lucky enough to have them they used ice to chill drinks and drank lots of fluids to stay cool.
People went swiming in the summer, and visited the sea shore where it was generally cooler.

I need one that is not too expensive and is more eco-friendly (takes less energy, no freon etc.)

It is biomedical waste incinerator and is situated about 500 m from my home. It is producing toxic fumes in the night for about 3 hours . Will installing an airconditioner in my room flter the air I breath from the toxic fumes(dioxin, smoke etc.) The whole air around my house is filled by this poison gas from 3am in the morning to 5am.
