Which Compressor Is More Durable For Air Conditioners?

I am planning to buy ‘ General ‘company’s 1.5 ton window type of Air conditioner. There are 2 options for comrpessors, Rotary type & Techmisha (piston type). Is it okay to buy the one with Rotary compressor ? Thanks

In all my years working on air conditioners i have replaced more rotary compressors than piston type…so i would recommend you get the piston type…

The rotary is more efficient but the piston will last longer. More rotary compressors are replaced now because that’s about all they use now on central and wall ac’s. In the near future, the only compressor that will be available will be a rotery.
P.S. When only piston compressors were available, I replaced an awful lot of them also.
The rotery is the only one that dosen’t loose efficiency with age.
