What Does Anyone Know About In-room Air Conditioners?

The ones that are portable, not the ones that fit into the window. Anyone have one? Are you satisfied?

I’m a CSM at a local retail store, I’ve seen alot of them returned.
I’ve never had one or used them but by what the customers tell me, They suck.
Not enough air moving, not cold enough.. yadda yadda yadda.
I say try one, Keep your reciept so you can return it if it dosen’t work.

The are on wheels and theres a dryer-type vent that must go out the window. They work. I’ve used them in a hurry in a computer room.

I had one. It was loud and expensive to run. Now I have one of those spiny thingies (please excuse my technical talk there), in a metal cage outside the house. I never hear it, my electric bills are lower and it is almost always too cold in EVERY room of the house. For me there is no other option. Unless you need it to be portable, then it is okay. Not the greatest but it is okay. Kinda hard to carry those central air units around. They should put wheels on those things. Don’t you think? What are you going to be using it for? Camping or an outbuilding? Might be okay for those things.
    :)

We bought one for grandpa @ home depot. He loves it. Just make sure you get the right size one for the room you are trying to cool. They are very pricey. They also make electric bill go alot higher.
