Single Room Air Conditioner That Doesn’t Go In Window?

My room has windows that close sideways so most window air conditioners won’t work. I was wondering if there were any single room air conditioners that didn’t go in windows. I am not looking for a swamp cooler either as we already have enough humidity in the air where we live. I would like to spend less than $200 dollars, but any suggestions would helpful.

Here’s some they have at Target. Most of the portable ones are pretty expensive. Check it out.http://www.target.com/gp/search/601-4721…
I’ve got this one. But it’s more than you want to spend.http://www.target.com/Sunpentown-000-BTU…
You could do what I did before I broke down and bought a portable… it’s called “red neck air conditioning.” You take a regular fan and put a flat cake pan full of ice in front of it. The fan blows the cold air off the ice as it melt…. It works, and ice doesn’t cost extra…. but it works for an emergency, lol! It also gets a lot of snarky comments from guests….

not sure you will find a non window unit for under 2. They usually cost at least 350-4. My central air broke last summer and I had a cheap ac that stands up in the room and like the first guy said, there is a hose that goes out the window, but it ill be perfect for a sliding window. If you can, save your $ and get the window unit anyway and put it in the window if it can fit then seal the rest off with a board…. you will save like 300 dollars.
The standing ac unit I bought last summer was at Target….. that was the cheapest I found. Sears, and everywhere else their standing ac’s were like 450 ++++. So perhaps you can try Target. The brand was Haier.

there are plenty of air conditioners that dont require a being positioned in the window, however i believe that thay all require a drain hose. actually, the link i provided has a drain bucket instead of hose. its double what you wanted to pay though. but it should give you an idea on what to look for. i think theyre called portable a/c.

Hi, someone does make a self containing portable air conditioner. They simple plug into the wall and sit on the floor. I am pretty sure that Wal-Mart and Target carry them, if not check out Lowes or Home Depot.
