I think a small unit will work pretty well, since the interior space is smaller than most normal rooms by a good margin.
If you put up 1″ rigid styrofoam insulation under the roof, you’ll assure yourself cool comfort.

Most A/C units are measured in tons or BTU. Not sure what size your unit is. However a uninsulated metal shed in the summer would require a good size unit. It might be cheaper to build a new work shed or insulate it.

With an uninsulated shed, needing AC, I can only hope you plant a few dozen trees to counter the pollution you will generate from this.
Insulate, then try the AC, Or plant a nice fast growing shade tree to help keep you cool.

What part of the planet do you live ??How hot does’ it get?? A small ac would probably work ok, it would help to do some type of insulating. Esp.roof and sun exposed walls.
