in your sleep the body temperature goes down a bit, and the AC and fan lower it even more,
the muscles get into contraction mode to return the temp. level and keeping them tense during the sleep may end up in a spasm you’ll feel later because the muscles will pull the bones in the spine into a position that can pinch a spinal nerve. as a result more tension and here starts the back pain.
bad mattress is also a bad thing o sleep on because if you do not get the right support to the right places in the back bone will again end up in muscle tension, and the scenario like before
so the 2 things together are against your back safety

Actually, in researching mattresses for our own purchase we found that soft is actually better for you, however, if your mattress has a “dip” in it then the springs are no longer good and that is NOT good for your back.
As far as the A/C and the fan, if it is directly blowing on you then it can cause stiffness in your back because it causes the muscles to tense up and stay tense. If you must sleep with both of these on in your room, keep the A/C vents pointed away from your bed and put your fan on oscillate. You’ll still have the cool air but it won’t be blowing directly on you.
It also might be a good time to check out prices on a new mattress and maybe even a different kind of mattress. The Sleep Number beds are the best because you can make it as soft/hard as you wish and there are no springs. Another good choice would be a Memory Foam bed. Both cost about as much as a regular mattress and you can usually get discounts or coupons from their websites.

The AC and fan should have no effect on your back. But I found out from personal experience that a too-soft matress definitely will give you a backache on a daily basis. Getting a “firm” mattress made a huge improvement for me.

No, not unless you are sleeping in some awkward way to accomplish this cold-filled nighttime. It could give you a cold if it gets really cold at night though.
