Is It Possible To Get Additional Indoor Unit For Split Airconditioners?
I wish to purchase Split Airconditioner (india) If I check the specifications of various brand air conditioners, it is showing only single indoor unit. Since I have two rooms, I wish to have two indoor units with the same compressor input. Is it possible to get additional indoor unit.
Is it possible to install two indoor units with same compressor
Whether they will give second indoor unit (even though it is not mentioned in specification) if we pay additional amount

Normally no, the present compressor which you have the power and the gas is sufficient for one fan unit ( called the evaporator coil, beside don’t think you can buy just the fan unit without the compressor ?, unless you salvage one from the scrap yard, if that is the case the compressor will either overload and burn out, why not purchase a new smaller unit
for the other room at least you can save on electric bill, instead of burning the present one, good luck
A split system A/C is “sized” to operate with each other — this means the compressor /cond. coil(outside) / evaporator(inside) are all sized to work together.
If you want another room(area) to be cooled — then you will need to install another “vent” in that room(area) so cold air comes in there also — from the duct work coming off the indoor unit(evaporator). You will need to install a “Y” fitting , or a ” T ” fitting in the air duct line( a tap in other words)and run another air line(floor/attic) vent to that area/room.
That would not work very well to have two air handlers, and one condenser unit. They would freeze up if only one indoor unit is running. The two indoor units(air handlers) would have to both be running if the outdoor unit(condenser) is running. Best to either have two separate condensers, or one air handler
Split air conditioning systems distribute conditioned air through duct work. You should be able to install duct work anywhere you choose.
Yes, it is possible for some units from some manufacturers with correct match-ups of the air handling equipment. And you will need and twinning kit. It’s usually not worth the time and effort. In 11 years of estimating I only found a couple of applications where it worked efficiently.
