Do I Have To Let My Air Conditioner Sit?

i was wondering if i have to let my air conditioner sit in the window for any period of time it’s not new it has been sitting in my basement since last year. i know when you buy it new they tell you to let it sit for 24 hours before turning it on.

    You only have to let them sit if they were put on thies sides or turned upside down. This is to allow time for oil for the compressor to drain to where it belongs.
