Do Air Conditioners Filter Cigarette Smoke?

I have an air conditioner on my living room window and since I”m not sure whether it filters cigarette smoke I sometimes have to mount a window fan on the other window to blow the smoke out when I smoke…this causes some of the cool air sneak out of the other window therefore making the AC work harder. Does anyone knows if an AC filters cigarette smoke or do you think it isn’t effective at that?

AC is meant to cool an area, not filter cigarette smoke. Not its not effective at that.
