Could I Be Sick From The Cold Air Conditioner?

Is it possible? I always get sick at this time of year and I think it might be because the air conditioner upstairs (where my room is) is really cold, my mom keeps it on 68. I don’t actually know if that is that cold but it is cold to me. I am in my basement now and it is a lot warmer and I am kind of feeling better. But is it possible for a cold house to get you sick?

It is probably allergies as suggested above. But it could be the temp if you are going from being extremely hot (exercising outside on a hot day) to going right into that cold room. If you cool off too quickly while genuinely overheated, it could cause you to feel ill.

I’m not sure a cold house can make you sick, but there could very well be germs and bacteria and mold growing inside the air conditioner or the vents which is causing you to be sick. This will also cause big problems for people with allergies. Even those without allergies can get sick from the mold spores and germs blown out by dirty air conditioners/heating vents.
Window air conditioners need to be cleaned out each year prior to use and sometimes halfway thru the season as well. Central air conditioners should have their filters changed and the vents cleaned every year before turning them on to keep mold spores, dirt and bacteria from getting into the house/air.
