Can I Use An Airconditioner If I Turn It Sideways To Fit In The Window?
No. The system is set up so the oil feeds into the compressor via gravity. If you turn it on its side, the oil will drain out and seize the motor in the compressor. Not a good idea…..

Please do not listen to the guy that said set it on a table and use cardboard, thats a brainless idea. But no you can’t operate the AC in verticle position. It will break. Your better off selling the one you have and buying a smaller one. If your window is really small they make portable A/C’s which are more expensive and will basically operate like the one the guy said to sit on a table except it wouldn’t look like poop or leak extremely hot air right back into your room. If you network out theres always someone in an area that rebuilds A/C units. They are very cheap compared to new, just make sure you test her out for a good fifteen minutes. I bought one rebuilt for 40 bucks and has been working fantastically for me going on three years.
no. You’ll ruin it. One solution would be to put the AC on a table a few inches inside the window then tape cardboard flaps around it and stick them to the window frame. Make sure you put something under it to catch the drips.
No, won’t work since it will ruin the compressor. Only option would be to sell it as someone said, but then buy one that does fit the window. There are narrow, taller versions available by special order-sears has them
Mostly no.
There is a requirement for gravity in the proper direction for
the unit to work.
