It seems like every air conditioner I try is really really loud and it hurts my ears. The ones that say they’re “quiet” are only referring to reducing rattle on the compressor and such, but the darned fan is still loud as anything! Are there any air conditioners out there that are TRULY quiet??

Last summer we bought a Trane brand heater/ac unit. It has a feature that makes it kick on quietly, and is very efficient. It’s saving us about 30% on our electricity bill.
